The Party

We’re celebrating at Liz and Greg’s home in rural Chapel Hill, which is where Liberty grew up! The house is on a beautiful and secluded piece of land about 15 minutes from downtown Chapel Hill. 

 

We're already married, so we won't be having a ceremony. Instead, we'll kick off the celebration by sharing a few words about what this day means to us, followed by a welcome toast.

 

From there, we’ll walk to a tent near the house and keep celebrating with drinks, mingling, and lawn games. We’ll have a buffet-style dinner followed by a few speeches. Then we’ll have music and dancing, open up the pool for swimming, and (weather permitting) light a fire and roast s’mores to cap off the night.

Attire

We’re recommending dressy casual attire—dresses, jumpsuits, button-down shirts or vests in casual fabrics. Please wear comfortable footwear! We’ll be walking on grass and gravel, so narrow heels will be difficult.

 

The temperature will most likely be in the 70-80 degree range, but it could reach up to 90 when the sun is out. 

 

The pool will be open after dinner, so bring a swimsuit if you’d like! There are places to change inside the house and towels available.

Accommodations

We recommend booking accommodations in downtown Chapel Hill, near UNC. There are plenty of hotels available, but we will have a shuttle service from the AC Hotel and The Graduate.

There will be plenty of parking available at the house for folks who want to drive.

Parking

Uber and Lyft are available, but may be difficult to book from Liberty’s parents’ house late at night.

Rideshares

We will have a shuttle service available to transport guests from the AC Hotel and The Graduate in downtown Chapel Hill to Liberty's parents' house (about a 20-minute drive). Pick-up and return times will be shared closer to the wedding, so stay tuned for more details!

Things to Do

Chapel Hill is a small college town, and if you stay near Franklin Street there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. Other areas of Chapel Hill and surrounding cities are less walkable, but easily navigable via ride shares or a rental car.

Gifts

We know our guests are traveling far to celebrate with us, so your presence is the gift! (Actually, seriously.) If you must get us something, you can:
 

  • Get us something small and sentimental (or handmade)

  • Make a donation to The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization leading the country in mental health support for LGBTQ+ youth

  • Contribute to our honeymoon fund
